This week we head into Cheshire to the peaceful surroundings of Minshull Vernon. Situated alongside the Shropshire Union Canal it offers the usual opportunities for both walking and fishing while shopping is available in nearby Crewe or Winsford. The Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival takes place over the weekend and is celebrating its 20th Anniversary. There will be a narrowboat rally as well as music and street theatre with jugglers, parades through the town, stalls, music, Morris dancing and brass bands all at various locations in the area. While they are in the party mood, your Marshals would like you to join them for a Barbeque on Saturday evening (weather permitting)  Hopefully we will be in the party mood following an England win against Algeria on Friday evening.

DIRECTIONS:

From J16 of the M6, take the A500 towards Nantwich. Turn right onto the Nantwich By-pass, continuing straight on at the first roundabout. Turn right onto the A530 towards Middlewich and Leighton Hospital. Continue over the railway bridge, passing the Hospital on your right. At  the junction with the B5076 turn left towards Church Minshull and then left again after approx.1 mile into Cross Lane. Higher Elms Farm is on your right just after crossing the canal bridge.
