Maxey is a small village lying approximately 8 miles north of Peterborough providing a good base to explore the villages of the surrounding area. The old stone town of Stamford (often described as a mini York) is just a few miles away and is well worth a visit. Also within easy reach for exploring are Rutland Water, Burghley Hall, Market Deeping, Spalding and Peterborough. There are scenic lake walks from the site with fishing available for the anglers amongst us, see Marshals for further details.

DIRECTIONS

From Melton Mowbray, take the A606 through Oakham to Stamford and then gain the A16 towards Spalding. Watch for NSC signs.   From Grantham, take the A15 towards Market Deeping. At the roundabout (approx ¾mile after Langtoft) turn right onto the A16. At the next roundabout carry straight on onto the A15, and then left at the next roundabout sp Maxey Watch for NSC signs.
